Our Plan
Our plan is to start with small group, personal, no pressure Bible exploration. That works best with a weekly 1.5 hour time commitment.
See the “First Study” course on this web page to view the Bible topics we will cover. This study path is designed for everyone from those who are exploring the Bible for the first time, to those who have basic Bible knowledge, to those who are more familiar. All are welcome.
Our Pastor will work to accommodate personal schedules, so let us know your availability.
Ask how your children can be accommodated if that fits your situation. We have teachers with deep experience in teaching children.
First Study

Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Tim Ehlers, MDiv
Our pastor has deep pastoral experience and has pastored multiple churches all over the country. He and his wife, Tama, have raised six children all who are now grown and raising their own families.
He is compassionate, confidential, and committed to caring for you with grace and understanding. He’s here to:
- Listen to your concerns
- Pray
- Offer biblical guidance
- Support you through difficult moments
- Help you take steps forward in hope
Our Story
A caring group of people in Las Vegas wanted to start a new church rooted in the heart of the Mountains Edge community. They wanted that church to be truthful about what the Bible teaches so that people can learn and grow spiritually, and know that as they are, what they are hearing is authentic to what God tells us in the Bible. You want your doctor to be truthful. You want a Pastor to be truthful, too. When he is, you will get to know a mighty God who loves imperfect people just as mightily. They wanted this to be a church to reach out to all people no matter whom they might be. Finally, they wanted it to be a blessing to the community.
That group called Pastor Timothy Ehlers, an experienced and caring pastor and missionary, to lead that effort. He is now in the Mountains Edge area and ready to do his work. The new church has been named, Desert Hope.
Interested? Pastor Ehlers would love to get to know you better and have you get to know him. He is also eager to teach you about Jesus and help you grow to know more and more about the Bible. Zero pressure. Zero church background needed. Thrilled, though, if you do have background in the faith.
